The Harmony Technology Camp for Girls was started by Hewlett-Packard in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2006. It began as a day camp for 6th grade girls in the Poudre School District, and then expanded to include Thompson Valley School District and Weld RE-4 School District, along with local charter schools.
Our goal is to show girls that careers in science can be fun, meaningful, and relevant. Attendees get to make their own night light, tear apart computers, learn about chemistry by making ice cream, and more.
Tech Camp attendees are nominated by their science teachers. Each participating school nominates 2-3 girls to attend. We’re currently working on plans for our 13th year, which will take place on March 8, 2019.
